Swim Safe

A huge Thank You to Swim Safe and Surf Steps for organising an after school session for 1st Fordingbridge Cub Pack last night!! Thank you for your patience allowing all children to participate with varying abilities and additional needs.
Thank you to parents for making the dash from school to allow the Cubs to participate in the RNLI Swim Safe programme tonight, these skills can make a real difference to prevent drowning, to have an awareness of risks in open water and to be able to do the right thing if they see others in trouble. Maybe they will help save their own or another life this Summer.
The children learnt;
🏖Always swim in a safe place and the meaning of beach flags.
🏖Always swim with an adult close by, ideally in the water with you.
🏖If you fall-in float, breathe and relax.
🏖They learnt about cold shock and what to do.
🏖If someone is in trouble call 999 or 112.
